Clear your schedule July 21 to join a paddle trip on the Merrimack River promoted by Five Rivers Conservation Trust, Merrimack County Savings Bank and Quickwater Canoe & Kayak.
Starting at 11:30 a.m., boaters can choose two put-ins: in County Farm, Boscawen, for a 10-mile route, and in Welch Park, Concord, for about 5 miles. The take-out will be in Quickwater location, on Hannah Dustin Drive, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The pre-registration to the paddle can be made on the Five Rivers website (5rct.org) or at the Merrimack County Savings Bank. On July 21, each site will have a check-in table from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There is no participation cost, but contributions to Five Rivers at the check-in would be appreciated.
Participants can bring their own boat or rent one, as well as life jacket, paddles, and other material, from Quickwater (quickwatercanoe.com) – each paddler is responsible for making his or her own arrangements for a boat. Quickwater Canoe & Kayak is donating 50 percent of all boat rentals for the day to Five Rivers.
