The New Hampshire Society of Photographic Artists and the Exeter Camera Club of Exeter, England, have teamed up for an exhibit of photographs that will be on display at the New Hampshire State Library from June 10 to July 26.
“Eyes Across the Water: Photographers from New Hampshire and Exeter, England,” marks the third time the two groups have exhibited their work together at one venue. Forty images from each organization will be on display.
By blending their styles and techniques, photographers from both organizations have created an exhibit that highlights both old and new methods in the field.
Styles on display include black and white silver gelatin prints, conventional color prints, pinhole photography, historically-inspired hand-made contact prints, as well as digital images printed on archival papers.
The connection between the two groups was initiated by members of the Exeter Camera Club when they were looking for a “sister” photography group in another country. Several members of the group will be traveling to New Hampshire for the exhibit.
“This partnership has generated three international shows, a copious amount of great photographs and many lasting friendships,” Richard Moore, the New Hampshire Society of Photographic Artists exhibit chairman, said.
The State Library, located at 20 Park St., is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend an opening reception June 13 from 5 to 7 p.m.
