NHTI is holding a charity wiffle ball tournament on April 13, and the school is seeking 10-player teams to take part. Games begin at 9 a.m. and are scheduled every hour throughout the day, both outdoors on the campus quad (weather permitting) and indoors in the Goldie Crocker Wellness Center Gym. With each team trying to score as many runs as possible in three, five-minute innings, the pace of the tourney is frantic and sure to be a great time. There will be plenty of refreshments for players and also raffles and a silent auction during the day.
The wiffle ball tournament is an annual fundraiser coordinated between NHTI and Community Bridges. This year’s tournament will benefit a local 14-year-old girl named Ambar. Team registration fee is $100 from the team members, matched by $100 from a business sponsor. The event is open to the public; admission is by donation. All proceeds will go into an account for Ambar’s family.
