Homeless pets in shelters across New Hampshire are howling, meowing and chirping the news! On March 21 and 22, 12 New Hampshire animal shelters will collaborate on an online awareness campaign and fundraising effort called NH PetSave.
Concord-Merrimack County SPCA is excited to be a part of this unique effort. “It is uncommon to see nonprofits come together like this, working side-by-side and sharing resources. For everyone that is a part of the NH PetSave campaign, it is about the animals and not the organizations that allowed us to start down this collaborative path,” said Heather Faria, executive director, Concord-Merrimack County SPCA.
New Hampshire’s animal shelters save the lives of almost 20,000 pets each year. The recent tough economic times have resulted in an increasing need for the services of animal shelters while grant and fundraising dollars have become more difficult to come by. With the motto “together we can save lives,” the goal of the NH PetSave initiative is to generate more excitement, attention and support to their work around the state than the inpidual shelters can do through their separate efforts. And, as a result, save even more pets’ lives.
