Don’t miss West Coast Swing dance classes with Anne Fleming, Wednesdays at the Howard Rec Center, 99 Pleasant St., across from the Centennial Inn.
Fleming, an award-winning dancer, has been teaching West Coast swing, hustle, and country and nightclub two-step for more than 17 years. Her classes are well-known for their relaxed sense of fun, and as she competes at the highest levels herself, she knows how to teach her students to both enjoy and excel at it.
Classes are Wednesdays and are $15 per session. State employees get $5 off. Beginner group classes are at 7 p.m., followed by intermediate classes at 8 p.m., with open dance practice until 11 p.m.
Fleming is also offering Saturday dance parties March 9 and March 23. March 9 will focus on West Coast swing, while March 23 will focus on ballroom and swing. Workshops run from 6:45-8 p.m., with open dance until 11 p.m. Dance parties are $20 each. State employees get $5 off.
Fleming teaches throughout New England and offers group workshops and private lessons. She can be reached at annedfleming@yahoo.com. The classes are a Rhythm4Living collaboration. Call 545-5186 for more information.
