NHTI presents the next event in its 2012-13 Wings of Knowledge lecture series, “Weston Solutions Green Roof Technology,” Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. in the Library Living Room.
GreenGrid is a modular green roof product offered exclusively by Weston Solutions, Inc., an industry leader in environmental, energy efficiency, and sustainability offerings to clients worldwide. This presentation will offer a description of the GreenGrid system and will evaluate the role that vegetated green rooves play in the design of high-performance buildings as a strategy to help achieve economic, social, and ecological sustainability. The learning objectives will focus on four primary topics: Stormwater management; how a green roof impacts a building’s energy performance; design approaches and considerations; and the differences in vegetated roof design principals. Attendees will gain a better understanding of what a vegetated green roof is and learn what the associated costs and benefits are of incorporating this technology into a green design project.
Presenter Jim Ricker serves as the New England Operations Manager for Weston Solutions. He was also a key member of the project team that led the design and construction of Weston’s new LEED-Gold office building in Concord.
