Tour, Shop and Dine returns to Canterbury Shaker Village in November. Tour, Shop and Dine is a special event that rolls each of the elements of the Shaker Village experience into a single tour. Tour starts at 11:30 a.m., with lunch immediately following. Dates are Nov. 10, 11, 17, 18, and 23-25. Price is $36.50 inclusive; children 13 and under are half price. Highlights of the Tour portion include access to the authentic Shaker Meeting House, the Laundry, the Dwelling House Sisters’ Attic, the Retiring Rooms, and the Sisters’ Comfort Room. The tour is followed by a Shaker-inspired lunch at Greenwood’s Restaurant.
The Shakers were creators of a cuisine based in foods locally-cultivated and carefully prepared. Tour, Shop and Dine has its own special menu of Shaker classics, like chicken pot pie, to tempt the palate and soothe the spirit. Tour participants also receive a special offer good only during that visit, in the Museum store.
