Gibson’s Bookstore will be hosting an event at Red River Theatres on Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. when Craig Childs, the author of more than a dozen critically acclaimed books on nature, science, and adventure, appears with his new work on the changing nature of our home, Apocalyptic Planet. A mulitmedia presentation is planned.

Also, Gibson’s has confirmed that poet Wesley McNair will appear Jan. 24, 2013, at 7 p.m. at Gibson’s. Wesley is the current poet laureate for Maine, and is a New Hampshire favorite. His poetry is very descriptive of New Hampshire. He will be presenting The Words I Chose: A Memoir of Family and Poetry, his story of being New England poet and teacher as he recalls finding his voice amid a rural New Hampshire childhood deeply scarred by porce and discipline.
