Amelia Ladd helped me pick out the right go-kart helmet and buckled me up for safety. Good thing, too – I base all racing etiquette on repeat viewings of Days Of Thunder and Talladega Nights, and both movies make it abundantly clear that “rubbing’s racing.” Hot go-kart on go-kart action ahead!
Here’s Governor Lynch realizing he made the right decision by pulling out of the race. Look how natural I look in that go-kart! By the way, he doesn’t look too injured in this photo, does he?
And would you look at that – I’m right out there ahead of the pack in first place. Did I win? Was this the last time I was in first place? Immediately after this picture was taken, did I miss a turn onto the road portion of the track and end up flying around the outside of the track by myself for four laps like an idiot? All great questions!
We went down to Route 106 Racepark last week to race go-karts against Governor John Lynch – or so we thought!
Lynch pulled out at the last minute (his handlers said “back injury,” we heard “scared of our vehicular prowess”). So, the media members that showed up to race the governor as part of a NASCAR promotion raced each other instead. Check it out!
