Big Read program

The Concord Public Library is pleased to announce that we will be part of “The Big Read: New Hampshire Reads Edgar Allan Poe.” A statewide project of the Center for the Book at the New Hampshire State Library, the “Big Read” will include more than 100 events throughout New Hampshire in October and early November.

The impact of Edgar Allan Poe's work on two New Hampshire writers will be discussed Oct. 10 at the Concord Public Library. The program begins at 7 p.m. The program, “Poe & Me,” will feature state poet laureate Walter Butts and fiction / fantasy writer Elaine Isaak talking about the influence of the horror writer/poet on their personal writing. The public is invited to this free program, co-sponsored by the New Hampshire Writers' Project.
