Concord's Lea Stark has been stitching in silk for over 50 years. Mill Brook Gallery is proud to host her first needlework exhibit featuring all original designs of birds, flowers and small wild creatures of the forest.
Stark has been inspired by Asian needlework for many years. She uses a personal library containing over 300 Chinese books, mixing and matching complex motifs into her own designs. Informed by important lessons learned, she incorporates numerous techniques into each new creation.
Stark's stitch work will be on display at the Mill Brook Gallery, 236 Hopkinton Road, from Sept. 21 to Oct. 28, with an artist's reception on Sept. 21 from 5 to 7 p.m. For more information, visit themillbrookgallery.com or call 226-2026.
