Wonder Made will be hosting a handful of upcoming community events, including an open mic night Sept. 7 and sacred belly dancing classes during three weeks in September.
“After the Green Martini burned down, there was a hole left in the downtown community for open mics, and we have been proud to take over that need and create our own open mic community,” Laura Loci of Wonder Made said. “We transform the store into a whole new intimate space and the musicians play in our front window. The quality of musicians has been jaw-dropping.”
The open mic will be Sept. 7 from 7 to 10 p.m.
The sacred belly dancing classes will be Wednesday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Sept, 5, 12 and 19. Drop-ins are welcome, and it is a donation-based class. The class is designed to get in touch with your body and spirit through dance and a community of women. Attendees will learn skills such as balance and muscle isolation. No experience is necessary.
