It's another installment of our Girl Scout of the Week, in which we profile some local Girl Scouts to find out just what being a scout is all about. This week, we've got 8-year-old Kaylyn John-Zensy. Check it out!

How long have you been a Girl Scout?

Three years – I started when I was 5.

Why do you think you were chosen as Girl Scout of the month?

Because I want to be a Girl Scout Troop leader when I grow up.

What are the three qualities of a good leader?

Funny, because some girls like to be funny. Creative, to be able to come up with fun ideas. Happy.

What community service projects have you done?

We had a father-daughter dance to collect food for a food pantry. We got a lot of food. I was happy to donate the food because I like seeing smiles on everyone's faces and no sad faces. We also cleaned up trash in a graveyard.

If you were president for a day, what would you do?

I would help people by making the world a better place, clean up trash, donate stuff and give toys to children.

Who is your role model and why?

Taylor Swift. She is nice, funny, and a good singer. And I play guitar too – I have been playing for one year.

Why do you enjoy being Girl Scout?

We do a lot of fun projects, we go on trips, and help a lot and I like to see smiles. We went roller skating. We went to New York City and saw a Muppets show. We raised money for the trip by selling Girl Scout Cookies. We do a lot of hiking, crafts, drawing, games and singing.

What fun activities do you do as a Girl Scout?

We went to Disney On Ice, a hockey game, a sleepover at the children's museum, corn maze trivia at night, and a father-daughter dance.

Tell us three things about yourself that we might not know:

I like playing with Barbies, I'm afraid of heights and I'm not a good roller-skater.
