Goodwill Industries of Northern New England would like to announce that it will hold its semi-annual “Art for Everyone: A Collection of Donated Art” on July 13 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Kimball Jenkins School of Art, 266 N. Main St.
The sale will feature over 250 drawings, oils, pastels, posters, prints and watercolors donated to Goodwill stores in the local community. All pieces of art will be affordably priced.
Previous shows in Concord and Portland, Maine, received an enthusiastic response from the local community and raised needed funds for the agency's community work.
Bob Parker, special events coordinator, noted that the unique feature of the fundraiser is that everyone can walk away with something. “We have pieces for $5 and we have a few pieces for $150 – $200, with most art in the $20-$75 range,” Parker said.
The sale features an original watercolor painting by Maine artist Bill Paxton (1935-2007). Light refreshments and drinks will be served.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit Goodwill's work to help people find jobs, lead independent lives and create more sustainable communities.
