I'm writing with suggestions for the Food Snob. He doesn't appear to be to snobby. It seems like he and companion Snob will eat anything anywhere. I understand the Sunoco station on Manchester Street has quite an array of sandwiches and sides he may want to review. I also heard McDonald's has a new sandwich called a McRib he may want to weigh in on.
Just kidding, Mr. Snob, I enjoy reading your column. Some unusual places people might find interesting: school cafeterias – are they as bad as we hear – and hospital food – is it still bland tasteless mush?

A forever tree
Many thanks for highlighting a few local hot spots for cut Christmas trees in your recent issue. One option not mentioned is the route our clan chose to follow this year: purchasing a live, rooted tree in a pot that can happily grow indoors indefinitely (or until one's lack of green thumb proves fatal). We purchased our Norfolk Pine, a tropical evergreen, from Cole Gardens on Loudon Road in Concord. Charlie Cole patiently led our offspring through the greenhouse, gave us a tutorial on tropical evergreens, and placed the 5-foot tree in a ginormous plastic bag before loading it into our Subaru.
We're all excited to watch this tree continue to grow and grow (up to another 5 feet apparently) inside, and already have plans to repurpose it as a New Years tree, Valentines tree, St. Patty's Day tree . . .
