Kids ride challenge

This fall, the Pan-Massachusetts Challenge Concord Kids Ride will be one of 35 kids rides held in neighborhoods throughout New England and beyond to raise money for cancer research. The rides are spokes in the PMC wheel, supporting more than 5,000 adult PMC cyclists in their mission to fund cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through its Jimmy Fund.

The Pan-Mass Challenge is a two-day, 190-mile bike-a-thon held each August. Since 1980, the PMC has raised $303 million for the Jimmy Fund. To date, the PMC Kids Rides program has raised more than $3 million for the Pan-Mass Challenge. They expect 125 children, ages 2-12, to ride one of two routes at 29 Hazen Drive.

There will be a party after the ride, which will include face painting, food, a bounce house, clowns, music, raffles and more. The kids ride will be held from from 9 to noon on Sept. 18 at the State Office Buildings at 29 Hazen Drive. There is a $10 registration fee and a suggested $25 fundraising minimum. Contributions can be made payable to the Pan-Mass Challenge. To register, visit kids.pmc.org.
