Hungry motorists passing by the Everett Arena have a new temptation to contend with – a roadside Farmers Market that features locally-produced delicacies from steak to swordfish to maple syrup. Miles Smith Farm (Loudon), Rollin' in the Dough (Sanbornton), Sanders Fish Market (Portsmouth) and Maple Ridge Farm (Loudon) have joined forces to create a roadside Farmers Market that is in operation every Friday through October or November in the Everett Arena parking lot from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“Now, more than ever, people are looking for locally-produced, healthy foods, and this market gives us the unique opportunity to provide a variety of options all in the same place,” said Miles Smith Farm owner Carol Soule. “What better way to start a weekend than with a delicious feast that your friends and family can enjoy?”
Each of the vendors brings to the table the food that they are known for, all in retail quantities. Miles Smith Farm sells frozen steaks, patties, ground beef and kabobs as well as stew meat, while Sanders Fish Market's display features cod, haddock, shrimp and swordfish. Meanwhile, Rollin' in the Dough showcases fresh baked breads and pastries, while Maple Ridge Farm gets mouths watering with fresh vegetables and maple syrup.
“With the late summer and early fall months being so jam-packed with activity and so many people having parties and barbecues, it's nice to be able to give folks a chance to enjoy some great food while also supporting local food producers who are doing their best to feed New Hampshire in a health conscious and affordable way,” Soule said.
