Each week, City Manager Tom Aspell throws on a pair of board shorts, lays out the Slip 'n' Slide, turns on the hose and slides face-first all the way to our doorstep to deliver the city memo. This week was no exception.
High marks for Parks
show me. . . fun!
Concord Parks and Recreation specialty camps received an approval rating of 4.6 out of 5 in a recent survey, Aspell writes. The Week One camps that were surveyed include field hockey, track and field, dance and cheerleading camps. Many parents added comments that included, “wish the camps were longer” and “already planning on attending next year.” For information on upcoming camps and programs, visit concordnh.gov/recreation or call 225-8690.

Successful cleanup
Last week, 46 of the finest men and women from Concord and surrounding towns pitched in to clean up three quarters of a mile of Concord's most visible riverfront on city-owned conservation land between Loudon Road and Terrill Park. This area will soon become the location of a hiking trail and will someday become the location of a shared use path running the length of Concord, Aspell writes.

King Felix in town
The Parks and Recreation Department still has tickets available for the Boston Red Sox game versus the Seattle Mariners on July 22, Aspell writes. Seats for this game are located in Section 33, along the left field foul line. To help sell the final tickets, the city has just reduced the cost of the trip to $40 per ticket for Concord and Penacook residents and $50 per ticket for non-residents. The price of the ticket includes school bus transportation to and from Fenway Park. The bus will leave the Everett Arena parking lot at 4:30 p.m. For more information, call 225-8690.
That's all for Tom this week. Be sure to check him out next week. Who knows where that Slip 'n' Slide might take him?
