Those who want to get a FREE sneak preview of the Petit Papillon's Nightingale, a new original ballet of an old Chinese folk tale, should stop by the Children's room of the Concord Public Library on March 19 at 11 a.m. A few dances from the ballet, and a reading from the Hans Christian Andersen fairytale of the same name, will be sure to delight aspiring young dancers, as well as adults who still dance in their heart.
The full premier performance will take place March 26 at 2 and 7 p.m., across the street from the library at the Concord City Auditorium, 2 Prince St. Tickets are $12 for adults, $6 for children and seniors, and will be available at the library preview, as well as on sale at Gibson's Bookstore, 27 S. Main St., and the studios of Petit Papillon, in the Green Street Community Center, 39 Green St. Group rates are available.
Petit Papillon Ballet Theatre of New Hampshire is the performing arm of Petit Papillon School of Ballet, a non-profit community school of dance located in downtown Concord. The company has been performing original ballets for over 30 years. The school philosophy approaches dance education as an art form, not as a sport or a competition.
