A record-setting $47,000 (gross) and an additional $32,000 through in-kind donations was raised at Concord Hospital's Annual Heart of the Grape Wine Tasting event on Feb. 10 to benefit the Genetic Counseling Program at Concord Hospital Breast Care Center.
The Genetic Counseling Program, provided at no cost to people at risk for cancer, is a much-needed community program led collaboratively by local and national experts from Concord Hospital, New Hampshire-Oncology and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Over 400 guests, as well as sponsors, and in-kind contributors filled The Courtyard by Marriott and enjoyed a variety of prestigious wines from prominent vineyards represented by Martignetti Companies of New Hampshire, Inc.
During the event, Pamela Puleo, executive director for the Concord Hospital Trust, thanked the event's hosts and generous sponsors and shared a video clip which illustrated the importance of providing genetic counseling to the community through one patient's incredible story.
