Every week, City Manager Tom Aspell writes up a memo, keeping us posted on what's happening around Concord. Then he puts it in an envelope, seals it with a kiss, and hand-delivers it to the Insider. At least, that's what we wish he did.
let's get physical
The city's Wellness Program will be sponsoring a Wellness Fair on Feb. 16 at the Green Street Community Center, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is open to city employees and city retirees, Aspell writes, as well as the general public. Over 45 local businesses will be present to promote healthy living and share information about health awareness and resources. For additional details, visit concordnh.gov/personnel and click on “Wellness Program.”
get the snow out
Clearing the streets
Now that the snow has stopped falling, the General Services Department has been able to start removing snow from the city streets that have been narrowed from the snow piles. Crews are working to clear streets that have been deemed by the police department to be too narrow, Aspell writes. Crews are also working on removing snow from corners to allow for better visibility. The City appreciates the public's continued patience as crews work to keep up with the abundance of snow that has fallen this winter.
BILL KOCH SKI LEAGUE
Thanks, everybody
Last Thursday was the last day of the Recreation Department's cross-country ski program held at Memorial Field, Aspell wrote. Many thanks to all the adult volunteers and Concord High School Nordic players who made this season so great! Over 40 children took part in the six-week program.
See you next week, Tom!
