Book of the week

One Year to an Organized Financial Life
Regina Leeds
2010, 271 pages
Nonfiction

Well-known for her 2008 book “One Year to an Organized Life,” Leeds teams up with certified financial adviser Russell Wild to tackle all possible aspects of your financial life in “One Year to an Organized Financial Life.”

Has the down economy got you looking at your financial situation and wondering if there’s something you should be doing or could be doing better? Leeds book takes you month by month through a process to help you get your financial life in order. From examining your relationship with money and organizing your filing system in January through reducing your expenses in April to building a nest egg in June, she breaks each of the larger monthly topics into smaller, more manageable pieces for the four weeks of that month.

You may not need to read the book from cover to cover. If you have questions about how to be a smart borrower, then check out May; or if you need to make some decisions about insurance, then look at October. In four to six pages, each weekly topic/exercise is written for the layman in easily understandable terms and concepts.
