Simple assault
Officer Amanda Reed was dispatched to the Holiday Inn about 12:30 p.m. on May 14 after an unnamed witness said he observed a man in a blue denim jacket with a woman walking along the train tracks behind the hotel.
The witness said he saw the man take something out of the woman’s pocket then grabbed her by both arms, throw her to the ground and “kick her as hard as he could in the abdomen,” Reed’s report said. They continued walking north on the tracks, the witness said.
Dana Eldridge, 49, of Concord and the woman were located by the police a short while later. They told an officer they were dating and lived under a bridge together, the report said. Both said nothing happened, according to the police.
Eldridge was charged with simple assault and taken into custody.
“At the station, he asked why he was arrested,” Reed wrote. “I told him what the witness had told me. He told me that is what happens when she punches him in the head first.”
Bail was set at $10,000 cash and was due in court May 17.
Run-in at Rocky’s
On May 14 about 1:30 p.m., Officer Brian Cook was dispatched to Rocky’s Hardware on Loudon Road after a subject was placed in custody for disorderly conduct.
While at the Kiwanis Spring Fair and Carnival earlier that afternoon, Officer Marc McGonagle said he was approached by fair patrons, who indicated Jason Martineau, 30, of Concord was causing trouble. When McGonagle spoke to Martineau, he started swearing loudly, according to Cook’s report. McGonagle said he asked Martineau to stop. He didn’t.
Martineau crossed the street and “continued to cause problems for patrons of the fair,” so he was arrested, the report said.
When Cook put Martineau in the cruiser, he started yelling and swearing, Cook said.
“He was repeatedly calling me dawg, n—a, punk a– b—h, and f—-t. He became more angry when I would not respond to his yelling.”
Martineau told Cook he was a member of a street gang called the “bloods,” the report said. He told Cook he had been carrying a red bandana in his pocket at the fair but passed it – and a knife – off to a friend.
Martineau was released on $1,000 personal recognizance and is due in court on June 9.
