For campy kids
Summer is almost here, and City Manager Tom Aspell knows it. In this week’s memo, Tom wanted you to know that the Concord Recreation Department will hold a free summer camp kick-off at Keach Park on May 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Kids in grades 1-9 are welcome to particpate in some early summer camp fun such as face- painting, soccer games and more. Tom encourages parents to come meet camp staff and register their kiddos for any of the upcoming camps.
The following camps will be representin’: multi-sports, dance, cheerleading, basketball, farm, “mad science,” soccer and traditional day camp.

Kudos, Tedd Evans
And the Building Officials Association’s Inspector of the Year is (drumroll, please) . . . Tedd Evans!
“This award is given to a member of the association who has continually shown his/her dedication to ensuring compliance with the building safety codes,” Tom wrote. “Tedd also attained the highest possible International Code Council certfication earlier this year when he received Master Code Professional status.”
Uh, we’re not quite sure what all that means, Tom, but we hope you gave Tedd a high-five for his hard work.
