If there's one thing we learned from putting together this Mothers Day issue, it's that you, readers, think your moms are pretty awesome.
We were bombarded last week with notes from adoring children and grandchildren who wanted to brag about how great their moms are. We got so many submissions, in fact, that a few stragglers didn't make it in. Our apologies to those moms.
We did select a few highlights to put online, so enjoy perusing our website. Among them: super-cute mom write-ups from kindergarteners at Beaver Meadow School. (Here's one from Bailey: “We like to walk to Summer Freeze on nice days. . . . On the way, we like to laugh and talk about lots of things like water beetles.”
And while he's not a mom, an extra special thanks to Monitor photo intern Max Bittle for the wonderful bicep shot he took for this week's cover. In case you're wondering, that marvelous piece of muscle belongs to Meg Heckman, the Monitor's community outreach editor. Meg hit the gym extra hard last week to prepare for her photo shoot, and we're proud to say it's not even airbrushed.
Adios,
Amy
