Come learn about the rivalry between the North-enders and the South-enders; where President Lincoln spoke; George Washington's tree; and Teddy Roosevelt's bed.
Boy Scout Troop 81 and Cub Scout Pack 81 of Concord are hosting a Hike-a-Thon throughout Concord on Saturday, April 10. In celebration of 100 years of Scouting in America, the hike includes “A Magical History Tour” that is open to the public. Registration begins at 9 a.m. on the Capital Commons Plaza, outside the Red River Theatres entrance on South Main Street.
The Hike-a-Thon and Magical History Tour offers a close-up, self-guided tour of historic landmarks, buildings, homesteads, monuments and scenic views of our city. Ambassador Guides will also appear throughout the route at significant points of interest. This 9.7-mile route will take place along the city's streets on paved sidewalks for most of the walk. A shorter 5-mile route is available to explore as well. Checkpoint stations will have water and snacks for sale. The lunch break will be at White Park.
Proceeds benefit Troop 81 and Pack 81 for the Scouter's Summer Camp programs through the Daniel Webster Council, Boy Scouts of America.
