The Draft Sports Bar & Grill, 67 S. Main St., has teamed up with members of the Manchester and Hooksett fire departments for the third annual St. Baldrick's charity event. The Draft and these firemen have issued a lofty challenge to everyone who wants to help raise money to eliminate childhood cancer: Be a hero for kids with cancer by shaving your head in return for pledges of financial support from friends and family.
Participants find that shaving their head in solidarity with the 160,000 children who are diagnosed with cancer each year is a small sacrifice in comparison to what these children endure, and want to raise money to help find a cure for children with cancer now and in the future.
The Draft will be hosting the event on March 13 from 1 to 5 p.m. This year we will be honoring Miss Molly, who lost her battle with cancer at 5 years old last year.
Andy Biron, Manchester firefighter, and John Hill, Hooksett firefighter, would like to issue a challenge to other firefighters and police officers to also raise money and garner support for this important charity.
Participants, donations and volunteers are still needed. Please contact Andy Sanborn at The Draft at 227-1175 to learn how you can get involved.
