This spring the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Granite State College is offering 29 classes and 15 field trips. OLLI’s goal is to provide life-long learning opportunities for New England residents 50 and older. The annual membership fee is $40, and class fees are modest. The instructors are volunteers who are experts in their fields and retired educators. Some classes include: “How to Sell and Buy on E-bay,” “New Hampshire Textile Mills,” “Exploring Art in Concord,” “A Civil War Soldier,” “Abraham Lincoln in New Hampshire,” “Facebook 101” and “This is Your life, Write It Down.” Field trips include the Appledore Island discovery cruise and a tour of the Portsmouth Naval yard. Homelessness in Concord – what does it look like? What can we do about it? Come and learn more on March 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the library auditorium. Members of the Concord Coalition to End Homelessness will provide information about the homeless situation in Concord and will share information about a model to eliminate homelessness.

On March 10 at 9:30 a.m., Eleanor Creon will be teaching an embossing and stamping class at the center. The cost is $2, which includes supplies. Sign up by March 3.
Beginning March 22 the center will be starting a 6-week Agile-Up program. This is a fitness program for seniors designed to improve muscle strength, balance and flexibility. Classes will be on Mondays and Fridays from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Cost is $30. Call to sign up.
On March 30 at 10 a.m., local podiatrist Dr. Edward Newcott will come to the center to speak about foot care and conduct an onsite free foot clinic. Call to sign up. If you would like to join a pork loin meal after the clinic sign up by March 24.

Always an Adventure offers outdoor adventures for active adults. There’s a $35 yearly membership fee for all activities.
– Outing club: Two levels. Meets Wednesdays at 8:50 a.m. in the parking lot behind Borders, 76 Fort Eddy Road. $4 activity fee plus carpool fee.
– Yoga: Classes are held on Monday and Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at 48 Airport Road. Cost per month is $4 a class, which covers 8 or 9 classes. You must pay for the whole month at the beginning of the month.
Extended adventures are offered. Preregistration required.
– March 9-11: Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing at Mt. View Lodge in Rumney. $230 includes five meals and lodging.
– April 27-29: Cape Cod/Nantucket. $320 per double includes two nights’ lodging, two breakfasts, one dinner and a round-trip passage to Nantucket.
– May 25-28: Rail trail biking and hiking in St. Albans and Burlington, Vt. $348 for bikers, $328 for walkers. Fee includes three nights’ lodging, three breakfasts, one trail lunch and bike transportation.
– June 25-27: Monhegan Island, Maine. $398 includes two nights’ lodging, one dinner, two breakfasts and a round trip boat ride to Port Cylde to Monhegan.
