Area blood drives
One way to get in the spirit of Red Cross month is to donate blood. There are many blood drives happening in the area.

Most drives accept walk-in donations and some allow you to schedule appointments over the phone or online. To schedule an appointment, call 800-GIVE-LIFE or visit redcrossblood.org.

Classes in March
The Granite Chapter of the Red Cross holds community classes each month. Visit concord-redcross.org or call 800-464-6692 for more information or to register.

The following classes are offered at chapter headquarters, 2 Maitland St., this month:

March 6, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Adult/Infant/Child CPR with instruction in use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED) for adults and children.

March 11, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Adult CPR and AED with standard first aid.

March 13, 6 a.m.-6 p.m.
CPR and AED for the professional rescuer.

March 17, 6-10 p.m.
Standard first aid.

March 20, 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Adult CPR/AED.

March 24, 5:30-10 p.m.
Infant/Child CPR with child AED.

Upcoming classes
The Red Cross also offers the following classes (check the website or call to see when the next one is offered):

Pet First Aid: Lean to recognize when a problem becomes an emergency, handle an injured animal and methods for treating animals.

Water Safety: Both swimming lessons and lifeguard training are offered in the spring and summer.

Online classes: Take a class at your pace online at redcrossonlinetraining.org. Offerings include CPR, first aid and AED essentials.

Help the Red Cross in New Hampshire meet its goal to train 500 people in one day by attending a special first aid class on Saturday, March 20.

The class is $35 (a 22 percent discount) and participants will receive a free vintage first-aid kit. The class will be held at the Grappone Conference Center, 70 Constitution Ave., from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Call 225-6697 or visit concord-redcross.org for more.
