Concord is a mecca of craft fairs this time of year, giving you plenty of opportunities to shop ahead of time (and, as a bonus, avoid the headache of mall parking lots).
Oct. 24 and 25
A Christmas craft fair will be held at 47 Airport Road from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Food will be provided Webster Congregational Church with proceeds donated to the church. For more, call Goldie Jenovese at 648-2205.
Nov. 7
The Merrimack County Artisans Craft Fair will be held at the Bektash Shrine, 198 Pembroke Road from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. A tradition for over 30 years, the Merrimack County Artisans Craft Fair offers perse, select crafts made by local artisans. A fall fair will be held at St. Paul’s Church, 21 Centre St., from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. That fair will include jewelry, crafts, a silent auction, baked goods, Christmas items and a white elephant table. New Hampshire Open Doors will take place on Veterans Day weekend. Artisans and craftspeople across the state invite visitors to their studios and businesses. Concord locations include Apple Hill Farm, 580 Mountain Road, farm store and tastings; Mill Brook Gallery & Sculpture Garden, 236 Hopkinton Road, exhibits, pottery and jewelry; Wyrding Studios, 7 Celtic St., jewelry; League of NH Craftsmen, 36 N. The Joyful Giving Fair will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church, 79 Clinton St., starting at 9 a.m. Visitors will have the opportunity to shop for unique gifts from around the world while supporting local, national and international charities. The New Hampshire Audubon will hold its holiday fair and book sale at the McLane Center, 84 Silk Farm Road, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The event includes live animal presentations, discounts at the Nature Store, crafts and activities for kids, baked goods and apple cider, raffle prizes and shoppers can peruse a wide variety of used books (half-price sale on used books begins at 1:30 p.m.).
