Your questions answered

Readers send us interesting questions all the time. Sometimes it’s easy to find an answer; other times the question languishes in a folder, never to see the light of day (it doesn’t help that we can’t find said folder). Anyway, the question the Revelator is tackling today was one of the easy ones. Thank goodness.

Here it is:

There is a big pink ribbon tied around the tree of the old Milville School out on Pleasant St, just past St. Paul’s School. I think the place is home to Parker Academy now. Why? My Tai Chi class would like to know.
Cheers!
Margaret Fletcher, Concord

The answer to this question is actually a really nice story, or so we discovered when we e-mailed Parker Academy asking for details:

I’m so glad people are noticing! My daughter, Danielle Parker, is getting married Oct. 3 and we just had a bridal shower at Parker Academy. The guests all came wearing pink clothing, the food was all pink, even the drinks were pink! The guests made contributions toward Making Strides rather than giving gifts – $1,200 was raised that day! This has a special place in our hearts as Danielle’s future mother-in-law is a 10-year survivor and I am currently dealing with breast cancer (expect to be bald for her wedding).

We keep the pink ribbons up to draw attention to the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event in which Parker Academy has a team.
That’s the story and I’m sticking with it.
Liz

Liz event sent us photos from the event, which makes her an even nicer person that we thought. (That makes her off-the-charts nice.)

Thanks to Margaret and her Tai Chi class for the question, and to Liz for the response!
