The Concord Energy and Environment Committee will host a Concord-Area Growers Harvest Celebration on Oct. 5. All of the food presented at the event will be produced locally, highlighting the benefits of healthy eating that supports the local economy. The event is held at the Grappone Conference Center, 70 Constitution Ave., at 5:30 p.m.
Producing and consuming food locally uses far less energy than food that has been transported hundreds or thousands of miles. In addition to the food presented at the dinner, the event will feature information on how New Hampshire residents can save money and reduce their carbon footprints by cutting their energy use. Local food producers will available to answer questions.
Assisting with the event will be the culinary class of the Concord Regional Technology Center. Admission is $20 and $12 for children younger than 12 years old.
