It's high summer and, although you'd much rather be queuing up for swim lessons or marching off to Hobby Nook, you're stuck in the cubicle, slaving away on your next fun-packed publication. Sure, you skipped the pantyhose this morning and might throw something on the grill for dinner, but it's 2 p.m. and you need a little summer fun. Right now.
We've got you covered. A quick trip to a well-stocked convenience store and a company microwave can make any office feel a little more like camp. Check out our pictorial guide to creating break room s'mores on the right.
Not in the mood for s'mores? Here are a couple of other suggestions for camp cuisine that don't even require leaving the building.
Vending machine GORP
You'll need a large bowl and plenty of change. Insert the change into the vending machine. Choose a selection of packaged snacks that, when combined, will create a sort of trail mix. (We suggest Smart Food, M&Ms, cheese puffs and peanuts. Stay away from gum and Life Savers.) Dump into bowl. Stir. Enjoy.
Bug juice
This stuff is rarely seen outside camp boundaries but we've recently stumbled upon a reasonable interpretation of the stuff they served at Camp Takodah, circa 1989.
You'll need a bottle of red Gatorade, tap water and a cup. Mix equal parts Gatorade and water. Stir a little. Enjoy.
