Concord's National Night Out and Safety Fair is back and better than ever. Don't take our word for it – Officer Joe Wright of the Concord Police Department told us it will be even more fun this year and, really, why would he lie?
The fair, which according to Wright is crime's “going away party,” will be held at Rollins Park on Aug. 4 from 5 to 9 p.m. Admission is free. The only thing that will cost you is the food, and even that's cheap – there will be all-you-can-eat Domino's pizza with a drink for only $5. We highly recommend you get your food ticket in advance by purchasing one at either Domino's or the police department. You don't want to miss out on all that pizza.
If you're one of those crazy people who doesn't like pizza, there will be plenty of other delectable choices. Just be sure to bring some cash.
Food isn't the only reason to attend the fair. Here's what else is in store:
Bike safety with a bike rodeo. A children's bike donated by Target will be raffled off.
Police demonstrations (K-9, child ID kit, gun safety, explosive unit, DWI command vehicle).
Vehicles, equipment, inflatable activities and a cooling tent provided by New Hampshire National Guard.
Safety and health information booths.
Karate demonstrations by Eagan's Karate Academy.
Wildlife displays.
Dog obedience and agility by Triple T Farms.
Fire safety.
Touch-a-truck with police, fire, construction and military vehicles.
CPR and safety demonstration by McGregor EMS and American Red Cross.
Dancing and fun on the grass with DJ Tim.
Live music by the Nevers' Band from 7 to 9 p.m.
Police department vs. fire department softball game.
Helicopter fly by and landings.
Taylor Rental inflatable slide and activities.
Concord Police and Freedom Cycle's “The Safety 500” mini driving course.
Outdoor big screen games and entertainment by Best Buy.
And so much more!
