A few weeks ago, we asked readers to submit their answers regarding our conversation starter of the week: your first bicycle.
Wendy Woodman was kind enough to share with us her memory of her first tricycle. Thanks, Wendy!
“My first tricycle was, in my mind, the coolest thing on earth. It was a pretty shade of green and it had a step on the back so that I could bring a friend along for the ride. I loved riding that thing up and down the sidewalk in front of our house on Bradley Street.
“One day, as I was riding it, the handle bar broke off. I brought it in to show my dad and thought that my days of having fun on it were over. I thought for sure that he was going to tell me that we would have to throw it out. To my surprise, he told me that he knew just the person who could fix my tricycle. So, off we went to have it fixed.
“As the man was welding my handle bar back on, I remember looking up at my dad with great admiration. I was so impressed that he knew how to get my special trike fixed.”
We want to get you talking again. If Manchester is “Manch-Vegas,” what should we call Concord to make it sound all cool and trendy? E-mail your answers to news@theconcordinsider.com and put “conversation starter of the week” in the subject line. We’ll print your answers next week.
