The Concord Cooperative Market, 24 S. Main St., will host its second annual Spring Into Healthy Living Fair on Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. The co-op will raise a big top-style tent and close its parking lot to make way for more than 75 farmers and vendors. Free tastings and product samples of natural foods and goods with a focus on New England-made items will be offered.
Other highlights include the co-op's wellness educators, who will be on hand to provide information on acupuncture, yoga, massage therapy, holistic medicine and other topics; and Green Concord, a growing group of local merchants that promotes green living.
“We have an excellent selection of products from local farms and licensed, home-based businesses, and we want to give folks the opportunity to meet these inpiduals and understand why buying local is the way to go,” says Paula Harris, the co-op's general manager.
In addition to tasty and educational tidbits, the first 100 inpiduals will receive a dogwood or wildlife sapling. Hourly giveaways, live music, farm animals and “creation station” kids' activities will round out a fun-filled day.
Free parking is available across the street in the Capitol Commons parking garage. Access is on Storrs Street.
