One dash of cabaret and a generous portion of a love for food

Concord native, Megan Owen, cabaret artist and versatile singer who also trained as a chef at the Culinary Institute of America, will present her cabaret show, “Food of Love & Vice Versa,” on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 8 p.m., at the Concord Community Music School, 23 Wall St. Proceeds will benefit The Friendly Kitchen.

“Food of Love & Vice Versa” features a variety of songs about food, running the gamut from opera and standards to Broadway and pop. Megan presents character sketches of “chefs I have known” to the music of Leonard Bernstein, Cole Porter, Kander & Ebb, Hector Villa-Lobos, David Shire, Victor Herbert, Richard Danley and Woody Regan.

“Food of Love & Vice Versa” is directed by Avrom Berel of Connecticut and New York City. Her accompanist is Richard Danley of New York City.
