Kicked out of bed
At about 2:30 a.m., Officer Melissa Pfefferle was sent to an Alice Drive apartment for a domestic assault.
When Pfefferle arrived, she wrote, she saw a man and woman standing outside the apartment building, and she talked to the man while another officer talked to the woman.
Pfefferle asked Gregory M. Comeau, 36, of Concord, to tell her what happened, she wrote: He said he didn't know, and that he had been sleeping and that when he woke up his girlfriend wasn't in the apartment.
He told Pfefferle that he went outside and found her and that she told him he had kicked her out of bed when she got in, Pfefferle wrote.
Pfefferle asked Comeau how much he had had to drink, she wrote, and Comeau said he had been drinking at a bar earlier but had not had anything since they had been home.
“While speaking with Comeau I could smell a distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage,” Pfefferle wrote.
Pfefferle then talked to the woman, who said Comeau was in bed sleeping when she got in bed and pulled the covers over her. The woman said Comeau woke up and cursed, then elbowed her in the throat and pushed her out of bed with his feet, Pfefferle wrote.
The woman said she then fell out of bed and hit her side on the dresser, Pfefferle wrote, and Pfefferle added that she did not see any marks on the woman's throat.
Pfefferle asked the woman if they had been fighting, she wrote, and the woman said that Comeau was upset that someone at the bar had stolen $100 from her and she didn't do anything about it. Pfefferle wrote that she could also smell alcohol on the woman.
Pfefferle went back to Comeau, she wrote, who said he knew he kicked his girlfriend out of bed but didn't realize he was doing it because he was asleep when it happened.
Another officer told Pfefferle that the woman had a red mark on her left side, Pfefferle wrote.
Comeau was arrested and charged with simple assault.
He was released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail, and he is due in court on March 24.
February 15
The breakup
At 11 p.m., Officer Craig Levesque was sent to a Downing Street residence for a report of domestic criminal mischief, he wrote in his report.
When he arrived he talked to a man who said he and his girlfriend, Beatrice M. Fortune, 40, of Boscawen, broke up that day, Levesque wrote.
The man said that around 10:30 p.m., he'd heard a car in his driveway, but that he shares the driveway with his neighbors and had thought nothing of it, Levesque wrote.
The man said he'd then seen lights near his vehicle, and looked outside and seen Fortune in his driveway, then closed the door and turned out the lights, Levesque wrote.
The man said Fortune was out in his driveway calling him names and telling him to open the door and face her, Levesque wrote, but he didn't do anything and heard her start her car and leave.
The man said that Fortune then came to his door and began banging on it, Levesque wrote, and that he didn't answer it or talk to her, and then Fortune kicked the bottom of the door and put a hole in it. Levesque wrote that he saw a hole about the size of a shoe.
The man said he didn't want Fortune arrested, and wouldn't write a statement, Levesque wrote.
The Boscawen Police went to Fortune's house and made contact with her, Levesque wrote. Levesque arrived and talked to her, he wrote, and she said that she did not do any damage to the house or kick the door.
Levesque then placed her under arrest for domestic criminal mischief, he wrote.
Bail was set at $1,000 personal recognizance, and she is due in court March 12.
