The greater Concord community had a unique opportunity to “Return to the roaring '20s” at the Concord Family YMCA's largest and most celebrated fundraiser – the 20th annual Snowflake Ball, which was held on Saturday, Dec. 6.
This was the 2008-2009 kick- off fundraiser for the Kids Campaign fund. It raised approximately $30,000. All proceeds from the ball will directly enable the Concord Family YMCA to continue offering programs and services to low income and at- risk youth, families and seniors, regardless of their ability to pay.
The YMCA wants to thank all the volunteers who gave their time to work on the Snowflake Ball. We especially want to thank the Snowflake Ball committee members whose creative talents made this such an elegant event. The co-chairs of the committee included Anne LaForce and Loren McCabe. The committee members were Jennifer Devanny, Maggie Hyndman, Kate Russo, Margaret Tomas, Robin Connor, CherylAnne Williams, Carolyn Thomson, Susan Sokul, Diane Raimo, Gina Brochu and Eileen Demers.
The YMCA thanks the Inns at Mills Falls and the Common Man Restaurant for their donation of a two night stay and dinners for our raffle. We also wish to thank Hampshire Culinary Planning and Events Design for providing outstanding hors d'oeuvres and a wonderful dinner. A special thanks to the band, Club Soda featuring Carl Smith, for keeping things rocking all night. This event was memorable for everyone, and as a souvenir, each guest received a complimentary photo provided by Concord Camera Store.
Annually, the Snowflake Ball receives tremendous financial support from inpidual and corporate sponsors and this year was no exception! We were pleased to have Merrimack County Savings Bank as our host of the evening. Our champion sponsors this year were Hinckley, Allen and Snyder, LLP and Charter Trust Company. We thank all of them for their generous support for the Kids Campaign fund. Thank you to our community partners: Mclane, Graf, Raulerson and Middleton, PA, Northeast Delta Dental, Shaheen and Gordon, PA, The Rowley Agency, Sam's Club of Concord, Ocean Bank, Quality Orthopedics Care, Cobb Hill Construction, Ferdinando Insurance Inc. and Brian and Loren McCabe.
