This winter you can receive up-to-date information about school closings and winter weather parking bans from Concord TV Channel 22. You can even receive this information through e-mail or text message.
To sign up, go to yourconcordtv.org and click on the button that says “Sign up now: school closing and parking ban text message and e-mail alerts.” Concord TV will receive information from the Concord school district and city of Concord when there is a school closing or parking ban and will notify residents through Channel 22, e-mail and text message.
Concord TV is providing this service free of charge, although there is a $3,700 annual fee for this service that Concord TV will be taking on as part of its annual operating budget.
With the decision of the city council to allow overnight parking in downtown, there will be a necessity to call parking bans in times of winter storms to allow for snow plowing. The fine for leaving your car on the street during a parking ban is $100 plus the cost of towing. Concord TV saw an opportunity to help residents by notifying them when these bans are in effect. In addition, notification about school closures will be very beneficial to the general public.
We hope you have a safe and happy winter.
